Half Moon Bay Golf Links
Half Moon Bay Golf Links engaged Southbound 4 for a website audit to up its digital game vs. the competition. The work scope: text, video and image content review; calls-to-action strength test; backlink analysis; domain authority check-up; and a sub-audit of social media accounts. An extensive set of recommendations was developed and are being implemented to bolster SEO and website conversions for tee time reservations.
Cherokee Valley Course & Club
We partnered with Cherokee Valley (Greenville, S.C.) to launch a new blog and create a content marketing program generating awareness and leads for a variety of membership types. In just over four months, our SEO blogs have become the most trafficked pages on the the club's website and the top-ranked landing pages for contact form conversions.
Sea Pines Country Club
Sea Pines Country Club was upgrading to the latest Clubessential website template ... great news! The caveat? Content needed to be reduced without sacrificing valuable keyword equity that contributed to formidable organic rankings. Weeks of editing and re-writing and boom -- a lean and mean optimized website. We also crafted new conversion-focused copy for Facebook and Google ads featuring new videos of amenities, staff and members.
While with Buffalo Agency, I led a team dedicated to re-positioning Desert Highlands from private club to a private lifestyle community. We helped modernize marketing, launching both paid social media and PPC campaigns. Our scope also included public relations and select media buying.
Sailfish Point Community and Club
Sailfish Point is a private, oceanfront community on Hutchinson Island, Fla. Southbound 4 developed a content marketing and PR program targeting luxury buyers in target feeder markets, while leveraging the club's completed renovation of its Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course by Nicklaus Golf Design.
Southbound 4 was tapped by the "Cradle of American Golf" for external media relations. We're weaving its tapestry of new and existing offerings into compelling storylines to generate golf package revenue. Our work includes blogging, content creation and distribution, third-party story placement and golf course rankings consultation.
For the past 20 years, I've been a contributing editor with GOLF Magazine, the leading golf periodical covering equipment, instruction, travel and the PGA TOUR. My contributions have ranged from long-form, 3,000-word travel stories to product and resort capsules for gift guides and "best of" lists.
Golf Oklahoma Magazine
Golf Oklahoma is one of the longest running golf association magazines in the U.S., and longtime editor Ken MacLeod always serves up the perfect blend of association, industry and travel content. It was my pleasure (and honor) to pen a roundup of travel offerings from Pinehurst Resort and Destination Kohler. You can flip to the article on page 40.
Building golf courses in retired quarries is uniquely American. I researched and wrote about this trend for GolfTrips.com, a collection of state-focused golf-travel websites.
